The Hewlett-Packard Company Archives (HPCA) was created to preserve and share the rich heritage of Hewlett-Packard Company. Hewlett-Packard was founded in 1939 and has been long recognized as the first high technology company in Silicon Valley and a defining influence in the global technology industry. When Hewlett-Packard separated into two companies in 2015, those companies — HP Inc. and Hewlett Packard Enterprise — formed HPCA as a joint venture to ensure that the legacy of their shared ancestor was safeguarded and would continue to provide inspiration and instruction for generations to come. Today, the Archives is organized and preserved according to highest archival standards and has been digitized. The Hewlett-Packard Company Archives contains:

• Over 10,000 unique archival assets
• Several thousand historical photographs and slides
• Physical objects including prototypes and consumer products designed and sold by Hewlett-Packard
• Many company publications and documents, including correspondence from founders Bill Hewlett and Dave Packard
• So much content that, stacked up end to end, the Archives would be more than ten times taller than the Golden Gate Bridge!
