Company Picnics: Play Ball!

Sports and recreation were important aspects of the annual Hewlett-Packard picnic, which began in 1942. Even Bill Hewlett got into the swing of things by participating in a baseball game that inaugural year. Over the coming decades, HP would sponsor other sports at the annual picnic, including softball, volleyball and obstacle course races.
