John Young: CEO of the Year

John Young was the first CEO of Hewlett-Packard after Bill and Dave. In office from 1978–1992, he was a pivotal figure in transforming Hewlett-Packard into a computer company while still protecting the company culture that made it special. Financial World magazine recognized this achievement in 1992, Young’s last year as CEO before he moved on to become chairman of the board.
