The HP 150: The “Magic” Monitor & More
Date: 1983
The monitor for the HP 150 desktop, codenamed “Magic,” contained one of the earliest uses of touchscreen technology. The device used infrared scanners to detect the position of the user’s finger on the monitor. The 150 would also host Hewlett-Packard’s first 3.5″ floppy disk drive and be the first Hewlett-Packard product ever advertised on television.
